MAKING A BOOKING

  • To make a booking we require a copy of your full, valid driving licence, along with a copy of your passport, full Spanish address of stay and a mobile contact telephone number.
  • To confirm your booking, we require a non-refundable 15% deposit of the total price of your booking - your deposit payment should be paid within 48 hours of receipt of your payment link - your booking is not confirmed until the deposit payment has been made.  
  • The remaining 85% balance is due 10 days prior to your arrival.
  • Any booking made within 10 days of your arrival; full payment will be required at the time of booking.
  • For your security we will never ask you for your card payment details. All payments are made via the secure online payment system through our booking page.

CANCELLATION OF A BOOKING

  • Should you need to cancel your booking you can do so up to 11 days prior to your arrival. Cancellations made up to 11 days prior to your arrival will result in the loss of your non-refundable 15% deposit.
  • If you have paid in full, you will receive a refund of the 85% of the total balance of your booking after deduction of your non-refundable 15% deposit
  • Alternatively, we are happy to move bookings to alternative dates, resulting in no loss of monies paid. Should there be an increase in cost, we will advise you of this at the time and the difference would be a balance to pay.   
  • Any cancellations made within 10 days of your arrival date will result in the loss of the full amount of the balance.    

Full refunds in exceptional circumstances will be at the discretion of Clarity Cars and may be offered as credits towards a future booking.

TERMS OF CONTRACT

  • The terms of the contract shall be agreed and detailed in your rental contract. Should you wish to extend the term of the contract, you must notify us within at least 48 hours of the date of contract expiry in order for us to authorise the extension, which will be dependant on the vehicle’s availability. The cost of the extra days will need to be paid before a new rental contract being sent.
  • If you wish to end the contract early, there will be no refund of money for the days lost.
  • Pick Up and Return at different Airports - Murica International & Alicante
  • Should it be necessary to pick up the car from one airport and return to another, there will be a €80.00 surcharge for this service.

OUR VEHICLES

  • We ensure that all vehicles are regularly serviced, repaired and provided to you in good, working condition, fully insured, valid ITV and taxed.
  • Should you find a fault with the vehicle you must notify us immediately to ensure any faults are rectified at the earliest opportunity.
  • Our vehicles are provided to you with all the necessary documents, tools, tyres and accessories. You agree to return the vehicle in the same condition, along with all the necessary documents, tools, tyres and accessories.
  • Tyres/Wheels - punctures or damage to tyres or wheels during the hire period are not covered under our standard insurance and therefore repairs/replacements are at the cost of hirer and both tyres/wheels need to be replaced to ensure they are matching.
  • All vehicles are provided to you in fully valeted and sanitised. You agree to ensure the vehicle is returned in an acceptable condition. If your vehicle is returned and requires additional cleaning to normal, there will be a charge of up to €100.00 for an in-depth valet of the vehicle.
  • For the comfort of all our customers we have a no smoking policy in our vehicles, this includes the use of vapes. If there is evidence of smoking in the vehicle there is a minimum €50.00 charge to a maximum of €200.00 for an in-depth valet of the vehicle including the cleaning of air vents.

INSURANCE

  • All our vehicles are covered with standard fleet insurance (3rd Party) with breakdown cover through AXA insurance.  Insurance companies do not offer fully comprehensive fleet insurance in Spain.
  • This means that you are covered for "non fault" incidents whilst driving our vehicles but not "at fault" incidents, therefore we ask all our customers to have their own Car Hire Excess Insurance so you are fully insured for all eventualities.
  • Having Car Hire Excess Insurance means we do not require a large holding deposit during your rental period.
  • All drivers detailed on the rental contract must be covered under your Car Hire Excess Insurance Policy and a copy of this policy must be provided to us for our records.
  • Our preferred provider of Car Hire Excess Insurance is "Questor Insurance".  Offering both daily and annual policies they also provide insurance for both residents of the UK and the EU.
  • In the event of any "at fault" incidents, you will be required to cover the cost of any loss - you will then be provided with copies of all invoices in respect of any loses in order for you to claim back from your Car Hire Excess Insurance company.

VEHICLE USE

  • We allow up to 3 drivers on our rental agreement.  The vehicle may only be driven by the main driver and up to two other drivers as authorised in the rental contract and all named drivers must be covered under your Car Hire Excess Insurance.
  • You must advise us of any other drivers and provide a copy of their full, valid driving licence and copy of passport. Any driver must be over the age of TWENTY FIVE and held a FULL, VALID driving licence for at least TWO YEARS.

The lessee must use the rented vehicle according to the following terms of use:

  • No modifications may be made to the structure of the rented vehicle; specifically, no roof rack, luggage and/or goods may be attached to the roof.
  • The vehicle may not be used to push or tow another vehicle or trailer.
  • The vehicle may not be used at sporting events or training sessions of any kind, or car material, accessory or product resistance tests.
  • The vehicle and any of its elements or tools may not be transferred, sold, sublet, mortgaged or pledged.
  • The vehicle must not be used under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • The vehicle may not be driven outside Spanish mainland territory.
  • The milometer may not be manipulated or unsealed and the lessee must notify any damage thereto. Mileage is measured using the milometer or using road maps should this break.
  • The lessee must stop and immobilise the vehicle if they detect any fault or if a warning light indicates any malfunction; they must immediately contact the lessor or its roadside assistance company.
  • The rented vehicle may not be used to transport passengers or goods for commercial or industrial purposes if this is not its purpose.

ANY BREACH OF THESE TERMS WILL RESULT IN CLARITY CARS TAKING BACK THE CAR AND ANY MONEY PAID WILL BE LOST. 

ANY DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AS A RESULT OF BREACH OF THESE TERMS WILL RESULT IN THE INSURANCE COVER BEING INVALID AND ALL COSTS WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LESSEE.

DRIVING INFRINGEMENTS AND FINES

  • You are responsible for the cost of any fines received during the rental period as detailed on your rental contract. We will provide you with a copy of the fine by email and payment will be required within 48 hours in order for us to pay this promptly (50% reduced rate) on your behalf to prevent increased charges. There will be an admin fee of €15.00.
  • If payment is not received within 48 hours, we will pass your details to Traffico as the named driver in order for them to deal with this directly with you, this could result in a maximum fine of €1000.00

FUEL POLICY

  • We work on a like for like fuel basis, so if your vehicle is full on pick up it should be returned with a full tank of fuel.
  • We understand that on occasion, you may be running late for your flight and don’t have time to re-fuel. In this event, you will be charged for refueling the vehicle to full, which we will provide a receipt for you. On the first occasion we will not charge an admin fee, however if this happens on a regular basis, you will be charged an admin fee of €15.00 on each subsequent occasion.
  • Should you use the wrong fuel when refuelling the vehicle, you must notify us immediately. Using the wrong fuel will incur a minimum charge of €300.00 plus the cost of refueling the vehicle.
